Will Germany able to show why they ‘world champion’, The current FIFA champion Germany is heading Euro 2016 on a cold streak. Usually the norm for Die Mannschaft (Germany) that it ends up making a deep run. It was struggling against the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, and Poland but they still won Group D by one point over Poland to reach Euro 2016. The Republic of Ireland defeated Germany in Euro qualifiers by 1-0. But by the two bold goals of Thomas Muller, Germany able to win against Scotland in a crucial game by 3-2. The team had also got victory over Poland by 3-1 and finished at the first spot with 19 points.

Strength

The campaign of Die Mannschaft (Germany) is hampered by injuries. Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and Turkish club Galatasaray’s Lukas Podolski are not in the form they once were. But they are experienced and can lead and electrify the whole team. The German team also possess a balanced attack. German forward Thomas Muller is a well-rounded forward,Turkish club Beşiktaş’ striker Mario Gomez is a goal-scoring poacher, Mario Gotze has always played good for his country and Mesut Ozil’s vision is world class.

Weakness

Defence remains a headache for the Germans. However, it’s worth noting that Germany had won the 2014 World Cup by starting four centre-backs. Central defender Benedikt Howedes along with Jonas Hector, a proper full back, will flank Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng. There will be one natural wide player on the back line, but with Hummels’ fitness issues, Joachim Low may have a selection headache.

Chances of Germany in Euro

Germany had made a place at least in the semi-final at any tournament in recent times. But anything less than an appearance in the final would be a disappointment for the world champion. The team is well organised and they have big match winners, Germany will be looking for to win the Euro 2016.
